Immune Support IV Therapy: Supporting Your Health During Cold and Flu Season
What an immune support drip may include, who it suits, and when an infusion is not the right first step.

As the seasons change and colder weather approaches, supporting your immune health becomes especially important. Fall and winter bring increased exposure to seasonal viruses, busy schedules, stress, and changes in daily routines.
At Ivy Infusions and Wellness, our immune boost IV therapy is designed to support normal immune function, promote hydration, and help maintain overall wellness. It is one of the blends on our IV therapy menu.
Why is immune support important?
Your immune system works year-round to protect your body. Stress, inadequate sleep, poor nutrition, and certain health conditions can affect its normal function.
Immune support IV therapy delivers nutrients and hydration directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. These nutrients play important roles in normal immune function, cellular health, and overall well-being.
IV therapy may be a helpful addition to a personalized wellness plan, particularly when additional hydration or nutritional support is medically appropriate.
What an immune support drip may include
Every infusion is prepared for the individual, so the contents and amounts are decided for you rather than taken from a fixed recipe. Depending on your assessment, an immune support drip may include:
- High-dose vitamin C. Vitamin C IV therapy reaches the bloodstream directly, and vitamin C has a documented role in the normal working of immune cells.
- Minerals such as magnesium and zinc, which are involved in normal immune and cellular function.
- B vitamins, including vitamin B12 and B complex, which support normal energy metabolism.

Glutathione is available in our office as an add-on. Glutathione is an antioxidant the body produces itself and produces less of with age, and adding it strengthens the antioxidant support of the infusion.
Why an infusion rather than tablets
A tablet is absorbed at roughly twenty to fifty percent, because the gut limits how much it will take at one time. An infusion is absorbed almost completely.
If you are genuinely short of a nutrient, replacing it properly makes a difference, and by vein is the fastest way to do it. If your levels are already normal, adding more does not make your immune system stronger. Your body clears the surplus.
An infusion fills a gap. It does not hand you extra immunity on top of the immunity you already have.
Who may benefit from immune support IV therapy?
This treatment may be considered for individuals who:
- Experience frequent stress, travel, or demanding schedules.
- Feel run-down or need additional hydration and nutritional support.
- Want to support their wellness during cold and flu season.
- Have specific nutritional needs or deficiencies.
- Have chronic health conditions or reduced immune function, with appropriate medical clearance.
When IV therapy is not the right first step
Acute conditions and emergencies are not treated with wellness infusions. If you are acutely unwell, contact your physician or urgent care first.
An infusion does not cure a cold and does not treat an infection.
There are contraindications for intravenous therapy. That is why our assessment and physician clearance matter, both for you and for us.
What to expect during your visit

Your safety and comfort are our priorities.
Before treatment, our Registered Nurse and supervising physician work together to evaluate your health history, medical conditions, current medications, and individual wellness needs. A nursing assessment, including vital signs, is performed, and our physician reviews your medical information and provides medical clearance to ensure IV therapy is appropriate and safe for you. The infusion typically takes 45 to 60 minutes in a comfortable, relaxing environment.
Injections as an alternative
Not every visit needs a full infusion. Our injection options include B complex, which supports normal nervous system function, vitamin B12 for energy support, and glutathione for antioxidant support. Which of these is appropriate is decided at your assessment.
